By Fred Lai and Candice Tang    Lan, a middle-aged new immigrant from Chongqing, China, lives in a subdivided flat with her husband and second-grade daughter. Having been sharing a broken bed for years, Lan and her family were given a new bunk bed in 2014 by Project Space, a local non-governmental organisation with a mission to improve the living condition of 120 poor families by December, 2016. Project Space, an organisation which carries out home-improvement projects for households living under the poverty line, is one of the 26 beneficiaries of Operation Santa Claus. The annual charitable campaign is jointly organised by South China Morning Post and Radio Television Hong Kong. This video is also published on SCMP at Discover more of Project Space on Operation Santa Claus: still poor, but family sleep easier in new bed provided by charity.
