The 25th Standard Chartered Marathon was held yesterday under humid and drizzly weather. The participants' quota reached 37,000, doubling the amount in 2021. 32 runners were sent to the hospital according to the Hospital Authority. Ethiopia came first in the man and women's race.

Yuet Tung China Works, first established in 1928, mainly exports hand-painted dinnerware and family crests, such as plates and bowls, to foreign countries. The Canton famille-rose porcelain making technique can now only be found in Hong Kong's last hand-crafted porcelain factory after the decline of handicraft industry.

A two-day Illustration and Creative Exhibition is held for the fourth time, compiled of about 300 illustrators from Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea. The exhibition is at Kowloon International Trade & Exhibition Centre on Nov. 26-27.

Demonstrators gathered in Central at around 7 pm to mourn the victims of a fire accident in Urumqi amid strict lockdown in mainland China. Mainlanders from provinces including Shanghai and cities like Guangzhou and Chengdu held blank sheets to protest against the COVID-19 measures, and chanted slogans to oust Chinese president Xi Jinping since last Saturday. After the ten mainland Chinese students mourned at the University of Hong Kong last Sunday, protestors in Central held blank papers and sent flowers to pay tribute to the ongoing protests in mainland China despite the police’s social distancing checks. Chi Kee Timber and Sawmill was bulldozed on Sept 27 to make way for the Northern Metropolis project. The Wong family who owns the mill was asked to leave. They were offered HK$14 in 2019 to relocate, but the family said that’s not enough. They started the mill in 1947 in North Point. It moved to Ma Tso Long in 1982. It was the last sawmill in Hong Kong.

But some local comic writers are still drawing new pages, Jerry Cho Chi-ho is one of them. HK Comics Support Programme, a first-year government subsidised programme aimed at helping artists to publish new long comics encouraged Cho to draw again.
