Beyond The Border

In 2017, the Chinese government formally created the Greater Bay Area (GBA) strategy, which encouraged more elderly Hong Kong residents to move to other GBA cities, largely for retirement. This documentary explored the lives of six Hongkongers who have moved to Zhongshan, covering the community, finances, sources of income, healthcare experiences, and their children's education. The story offers a glimpse into the increasingly convenient cross-city life in the Greater Bay Area, as well as opportunities and trade-offs brought by starting a new chapter outside of Hong Kong.
